As a landscape photographer from Cork, I’m always on the lookout for places that not only provide comfort but also a good value for my budget—especially while exploring the stunning Irish and Icelandic landscapes. The Jesson has been my go-to for the past 36 years, balancing luxury with a price tag that makes sense. The rooms are nicely decorated and spotlessly clean, making for a simple yet pleasant stay. With amenities like a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi, there’s enough to keep you entertained during downtime. Housekeeping did a great job throughout my visit, ensuring everything felt welcoming. Breakfast features a wide range, from cereals to the appealing pancakes with Nutella. While lunch is typically more basic, the dinner options include some fresh items mixed with M&S ready meals, which isn’t a bad deal given the location. The spacious family rooms, alongside friendly staff and a charming atmosphere of working stables, make it a fantastic choice, especially if you have kids. For those seeking a cozy base to explore the beauty of the area, the Jesson strikes a fine balance between value and comfort. I’ll certainly be back for another round of photography adventures.
